Juniper (Juniperus) is a diverse genus of coniferous trees and shrubs in the cypress family, known for its adaptability and symbolic significance. Its evergreen branches and scale-like leaves have made it a symbol of strength and resilience in many cultures, and its adaptability to a wide range of environments makes it a versatile and low-maintenance choice for landscaping. Although the plant's small, dark bluish-violet berries are called berries, they are actually tiny seed cones with fused scales that play an important role in the production of gin.
